Cosmetic Certification via University of California Riverside

The University of California Riverside (UCR) University Extension offers a new Professional Certificate Program to give cosmetic chemists the skills to launch or advance their careers. The new program, developed and presented in partnership with the UCR Department of Chemistry, is designed to give cosmetic scientists the skills they need to begin or advance a career in this dynamic industry.

This 13-unit, 12-month program is endorsed by the California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. It explores a variety of topics, including skin and hair biology, and emulsion and surfactant technology. The program combines flexible online, synchronous classes taught by industry professionals and in-person sessions where students develop their products in a UCR laboratory.
